Happy Thanksgiving everyone, its that time of year when everyone contemplates what they are thankful for. I argue that we should be thankful everyday but as our lives get busier and busier at least we have a dedicated time to reflect and consider our blessings.
So what were you thankful for this year? Family – a roof over your head – your spouse – your children? These are a given aren’t they? What if we dug a little deeper and really looked into our souls and saw what we were thankful for? What would that look like? Would we all come up with the same things? or would we vary wildly?
If I look deep within I am thankful for realising my dream of going back to school and following my passion, I am thankful that I didn’t listen to the doubting voices in my head telling me I couldn’t do it, or that I wouldn’t be any good in exams. I am thankful that I have finally found my way in life, a path that is truly mine and one that I feel so passionate about.
I am thankful that I hold true to my values and standards. I am thankful that I no longer allow others to influence my life or how I should live it. I am thankful that I can stand up for what I believe in and have the conviction and strength to not let others break my spirit.
I am thankful that I am seeing myself and my place in the world from a new view point. I am thankful that I am digging deeper and deeper into what it means to be authentic, to live in the moment and to value my body for all that it can do for me and with me.
Finally I am thankful that my new path in life will allow me to help others, afford me the opportunity to have a positive impact in so many lives. I am thankful that I finally found my path and I walk down it with peace and love in my heart.
Now its your turn, tell me what you are thankful for in the comments below.
