What is you’re why?
There is one BIG question to ask yourself when you embark on a fitness goal or a weightloss goal and that is WHY.
Why are you doing it? what is the motivating factor?
And why is the why important?
Well the why keeps you focused, the why keeps you doing it, the why is a long term goal, the why sets you apart.
When we get to perimenopause and menopause our bodies and our metabolism change, thats just a fact.
When our bodies, hormones and metabolism change we also need to change, adapt, renew our goals and long term aspirations.
As you know, from my previous posts balancing hormones takes time, the needle will only start to move around the 3 month mark, if you want fast results like a fast “diet” or a fast “exercise regime” that will have you losing 10 pounds in 1 week, your going to be disappointed.
So your WHY is an even greater factor when you hit your 40’s and 50’s because you are in it for the long haul now. Now is the time to figure out exactly why you want to lose those stubborn pounds, why you want to lose the belly fat, why you want to start sleeping through the night again.
I know my why. Why I wake up at 6am every morning even on Sundays, why I choose movement everyday – either walking or strength training, why I choose to not eat crap every day.
My why is to balance my hormones, my why is to be productive, my why is to feel empowered and energetic, my why is to get the most out of each and every day.
Do I want to lose the belly fat? of course
Do I want to feel better than I’ve felt in a very long time? of course
And this is all happening because of my why. I don’t see my why’s as short term goals, I don’t see them as a fad, I don’t see them as a scale that I need to see moving in the opposite direction.
I see them in the way I feel, the way I can see my hormones finally beginning to balance, I see them in my deep-restful sleep, I see them in my attitude towards people now as opposed to a year ago when I was tired, overweight and bitchy.
So…what is your why? Are you in it to make permanent changes? Are you in it to improve your life and balance your hormones for good? Are you in it to sleep again? Are you in it to beat the bloat and have amazing energy?
