3 Ways to lose stubborn fat.
Have you tried every diet? You’ve been on the roller coaster of losing then gaining, losing then gaining?
Maybe you drink a lot of shakes and concoctions, enough to last you a lifetime?
Here is the truth…those things don’t work…and they never will. They won’t get rid of fat that just won’t budge, especially as we age.
Want to know what will work?
Eating real food…
Sounds too simple to be true right? But it is.
- By eating protein with each meal – this can be animal or vegetable and pairing it with healthy fat and vegetables you’ll be filling up your plate with a combination of foods leaving you satisfied and energetic, instead of wanting something sugary and tired.
- Look at your portion sizes. Are they in line with your goals or are they plentiful? Using smaller plates, loading up on vegetables, pre-portioning your food can all be excellent strategies in losing weight.
- Use your imagination. Take time every day to visualize yourself the way you want to look and feel. Imagine yourself in a beautiful dress, or suit. Imagine how you will feel, how you will carry yourself, the smile on your face. Feel into it until it becomes part of you until you feel like it’s already happened.
In essence, it doesn’t have to be all about what you eat, how much you eat or when you eat. It is also about how you feel when you eat, your association with particular foods and visualising how you want to feel when you reach your goal weight.
By practising visualization, on a daily basis, it creates new neural pathways in the brain. It creates a different way of thinking and a stronger sense of self.
Pick an outfit you absolutely love or a designer suit you know you would look amazing in.
Keep the image of these clothes in mind as you create a powerful visualization. Imagine how your hair will look, how your body will move and how the clothes will feel next to your skin.
Imagine every tiny detail, get specific. Embody this new look and feel. You can even try this out before sitting down for a meal, but practising it every day, a number of times a day is key.
We can get stuck in the negative head talk of how we feel when we’ve “cheated” or “been bad” so let’s change that head talk to one of positivity and optimism.
If you rearrange your plate to one that is more nutritionally balanced and you’re having the correct portion sizes, combined with positive visualisation, you are on your way to living your best life and losing that stubborn weight.
